don't worry, be happy.

here's a little blog i wrote, you might want to sing read it note word for note word.

this song was on the radio as i was driving home from my sister's tonight, and as i was whistling along, i listened to the lyrics and thought about what they really meant. sure, there aren't many lyrics to really think about, but the message is an important one nonetheless. as someone who is, for the most part, a frequent worrier, i try to find ways to tell myself not to worry, especially about things over which i have no control. this song did the trick for me tonight. (although, i'm pretty sure you should be worried if "the landlord said your rent is late, [and] he may have to litigate").

"in every life we have some trouble, when you worry you make it double." how true! i don't think i've ever listened closely enough to hear this line. worrying will never make any obstacle we face any easier...so why bother?! it's easier for me to sit here and write this, as i'm sure i'll happen upon something new to worry about tomorrow. but i'll keep this song in the back of my mind and remember "it will soon pass, whatever it is."
